As a college student, we hope you’re encountering exciting new opportunities, but you may also be facing some new challenges–adjusting to a new learning environment, balancing your studies with a job, your family, or other responsibilities, or even just keeping track of deadlines and requirements for multiple classes. Ivy Tech is always looking for ways to better support our students, so we’re excited to be partnering with researchers from the Harvard Kennedy School to explore a new approach to help our students succeed.

You may have friends, family members, coworkers, or others who care about you and your success at college, but these people may not know much about your experience at Ivy Tech or how best to support you.

The Ivy Tech Study Supporter Program gives you the opportunity to identify people in your life who might want to support your education. This free program is designed to invite these “Study Supporters” to get more involved and provide them with the information they need to help out.

Your Study Supporter may receive occasional text messages and/or emails encouraging him/her to talk to you about your courses and experience at Ivy Tech. We want to study whether this program helps Ivy Tech students, so some Study Supporters will not be contacted. And, of course, Supporters can unsubscribe from the messages at any time, though most have stayed subscribed in the past.

More than 2,000 Ivy Tech students have participated in the Study Supporter Program so far. They’ve picked friends, family members, coworkers, relationship partners, godparents, bosses, tutors, members of their church, and teammates as Study Supporters, just to name a few.
