State-of-the-art labs offering students hands-on experience
Biotechnology students have the opportunity to learn in state-of-the-art labs that are equipped with supplies, equipment, and instrumentation used in the biotechnology field. This ensures students enter the field with all of the knowledge to enter the field prepared.
These classes focus on a variety of procedures that are necessary to know in order to execute laboratory projects. Ivy Tech Biotechnology students spend the majority of class time in the lab doing hands-on learning activities, as well as have one-on-one instruction with their instructor.

As a Biological Technician, you will assist biological and medical scientist in laboratories. You will be responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, as well as monitoring experiments, making observations, and calculating and recording results of experiments.
