I have often dreamt of finer things.
To be covered in diamonds, pearls, and silk.
But if l had a million dollars,
Every cent would be devoted to others in need.
To those who no longer have a voice of their own.
Individuals broken in spirit and cast aside.
But if I had a million dollars,
I would try and lead them to salvation, and give them hope that goodness still exists.
I have been more of a follower my whole life.
Mistakenly searching for purpose in conformity.
But if I had a million dollars,
I could finally break free, and find true meaning in this world.
I know how it feels to be alone and helpless.
To feel beaten down, abandoned, and ostracized.
But if I had a million dollars,
Instead of radiating misery, I would spread humility.
I think most people forget we are all in this together.
Most focus on themselves instead of seeing the bigger picture.
But if I had a million dollars,
I could help to make them understand we are all members of humanity.
I guess I am more spiritual than religious.
Believing in Karma more than some deity.
But if l had a million dollars,
I could give hope to those who might have lost their faith in man, as well as God.
More than any amount of currency or fame,
I would feel most accomplished knowing I made a difference.
But if I had a million dollars,
I would want that legacy carried on through others.
Corruption and greed already surround us.
I wish to paint a vivid picture of a brighter future.
But if I had a million dollars,
I would acquire the tools to display my canvas to the world.
I want to make a lasting impression, that brings our collective morals into the light.
Instead of falling deeper into the depths of despair.
But if I had a million dollars,
I could set a proud example for this generation to carry on to the next.
It is my conviction that guides me.
It is not diluted to think this world can be a better place.
But I do not have a million dollars,
So I endeavor to keep dreaming, and to never give up.
One day my dreams will become reality.
