Emilio, an Ivy Tech Community College student, pursued the CompTIA A+ program hoping to achieve his goal of a CompTIA A+ certification.

He was looking for a program that was mostly online, yet provided him with the real-life experience that is expected in the information technology (IT) field.

“I enjoyed that most of the labs could be completed entirely online,” said Emilio. “They simulate real cases and get you ready to apply what you have learned to real-life scenarios.”

In the IT field, it is important to have the opportunity to learn all of the skill necessary to be successful in the workforce. Ivy Tech’s hands-on program, boot camps, paid internships, as well as test preparation allow a student to excel. With this certification, graduates have the potential to earn $15-18 an hour.

Emilio believes that this certification has opened doors for him, professionally and personally. As for his Ivy Tech experience, he believes that it was life-changing.
