I’m talking about Ivy Tech Community College’s Dental Hygiene program. This program teaches students in real clinical settings in order to help them prepare to enter the workforce. While attending Ivy Tech, students are able to treat real patients from the local community in the Ivy Tech dental clinic.

The Dental Hygiene program typically takes two years to complete, and primarily holds classes during the day. This program is accredited by the American Dental Associated Commission on Dental Accreditation, which gives students a leg up when trying to find a job post-graduation.

“As a former practicing dentist for 37 years I am very happy to be part of such a wonderful program for educating dental hygienists” said Mindy Bennett, LDH, BS, and adjunct faculty. “The prospective student who is considering dental hygiene can feel confident that once they have completed their education at Ivy Tech Dental Hygiene in Anderson, Indiana they will have the best education possible and be able to be employed almost immediately.”

Graduates of the Dental Hygiene program are eligible to take all of their licensing exams and apply for their dental hygiene licensure upon graduation. Once licensed, many of Ivy Tech Dental Hygiene graduates work in private dental offices, corporate dental offices, and public health facilities.
